Creativity involves exploring ideas leading to an original or interpretive product or performance.
Activity involves physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle.
Service involves collaborative and reciprocal engagement with the community towards an authentic need.
The extended essay is an in-depth study of a focused topic chosen from the list of available Diploma Programme subjects for the session in question.
TOK encourages students to reflect on the nature of knowledge and how we know what we claim to know. TOK is assessed through an exhibition (20%) and a 1600-word essay (80%).
Writing an extended essay can provide a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your research skills, and you can get more in depth about the topic you are interested in.
*Tips: the extended essay can be one of the supportive materials in your application of university, so think twice before determining a research question for the EE!
TOK is a subject that learns about the essence of things. As a result, we usually ask 'how' and 'why' instead of 'what'. Through this course, you can learn to evaluate a phenomenon or a thing from different perspectives.
